Differentiated Instruction: This can work well with students of all abilities. Grouping strategies can ensure ESL students, special needs students, or students with diverse learning styles have additional support. Students will be given the option to rank subtopics by their level of interest (Subtopic Ranking Worksheet) and the teacher will use those to help form effective groups. Through reflection and goal setting, students will adjust as necessary to meet their needs. Mini lessons can help students who need additional support on a particular topic. Through formative assessments, educators can monitor student progress, both as a group and individually, and adjust as needed. Some students will be appointed as team leaders, which will give them an authentic opportunity to lead and manage. These team leaders will meat with the teacher as scheduled and also give mini reports to the class throughout the project on their group's progress.
